Hello SMF Builders,

Why cant we have a YAHOO / HOTMAIL style , HTML editors for Topic posting.

activex control +  javascript
or java

I love everything about all the forums created but I strngly feel a like window wil let people express text more easily !!

Also stationery option as in Outlook Express / IMV in Yahoo Messenger .

Not everyone knows HTML, BBC code is there because BBC code is a bit esier to understand for a newbie ;)

It's not just because of its simplicity but because a restricted set of allowable BBC is far *safer* for the board and the server than unlimited HTML!

Tom

hehe... I remember putting html in a phpBB board that I had for a shot time a while ago. (Not in a post, but in the category areas where you can.) But I didn't excatly know what effect the html would have... It ented up making half the board dissappear and giving me a heart attack.  :P

And that's when you don't want to do any damage...

I could have your administrator passwords within 13 minutes of you enabling full html.

Further, wysiwyg editors are very very non-cross browser.  A mod can be written, instead.
