Can't login or register

I wanted to install the V2 and look it over.

Did install (3 times). Can't login or register a user - You were unable to login. Please check your cookie settings. -

The info gets added to the database. Trying to request new password won't work.

Going to normal login gives error as admin or user gives - Password incorrect -

I did a download of V1.10 (I think) and did an install. Same problems. Is installed on a site using Drupal V6.13 - Drupal login (except for admin) is disabled. At this point I have no intention of using the bridge.

I am set to accept all cookies. Same results with FF, Opera, Chrome and IE.  I had some friends test - same results.

I am out of ideas except the Drupal thing (shot in the dark) and will try install on another domain tomorrow. If it is a Drupal issue will be a big bummer!!

I can login/register at other SMF forums.

That is all the info I can think of right now.

I can provide a URL but would rather it be private.

Huh, please explain.

Ok folks. I don't like this at all. I did an install to a different domain on same server etc. that doesn't have Drupal installed.

Works like a champ.

When you did those previous installs, were you 'hooking' it into Drupal or were they stand alone installs on the same domain?  If so how were they installed?

I'm sure Drupal isn't configured to bridge with the 2.x stream of SMF yet.  As for 1.x, have you tried the bridges section of the support forum?

I have tried it every which way. If SMF installed first and everything working fine as soon as Drupal is installed then login is impossible.

If Drupal is installed first then SMF install completes but can't login.

All installs downloaded, uploaded and installed.

Same problems with V1 and V2-RC

There is a Drupal bridge module which I have tried with SMF V1 and V2-RC.  I can't seem to get synced (I think it is a profile issue but...).

I don't care for PHPBB for this project and can't justify VB so running installed on a different domain until I can find a way to get them working together.

Well I would say it's an issue with Drupal and the way it hooks into SMF.  Like I said have you tried searching the Bridges section?  Or trying Drupal direct?

If SMF is working 100% without Drupal, then it must be something it's doing on installation.  I've never used it so can't help.  Are you sure the version of Drupal you have is designed to work with the versions of SMF you are trying it on?

I discovered what the issue is. The problem goes away when the Drupal .htaccess which is required for Drupal clean URLs functionality is not present.

Do you still require support with this, or can the matter be marked as solved now?
Holder of controversial views, all of which my own.

Yeah, you'll have to consult Drupal on that one, as it will (of if you can) alter their regular expressions they most likely use to 'clean' their URL's.  It currenty must not be 1005 compatible with SMF.  Or might be a simple adjustment to remove it from the trigger.
