Hello everyone I have a pretty sweet mod I've been creating forever and wanted to drop by and share my latest update with the SMF community. It's an awesome mod for the WAP side of your fourm and customizable too! I recommend you guys take a look at/download it. Here's some screen shots:

Is it something you'd consider submitting to the official SMF mod site? There are plenty of users who won't use a mod from a third-party site.

Hmm, I've just reviewed the discussion therein.

The mod was rejected for redistribution of SMF core files. You are not permitted to do so without prior written authorisation from Simple Machines LLC which I do not believe was granted. If permission was granted, please contact me directly.

If permission was not granted, you are required to remove the complete files from your mod as soon as possible, and note that by distributing that mod, you are in breach of the SMF License. Hosting on another site does not remove this requirement.

Alright I will remove the mod. In which case what would I have to do to get this permission to use those files . Which is the only way my mod would work unless I spend the next 3 months going threw and redoing everything I have done and then hoping it works, just hope you understand alot of my time has been put into this mod.

You would have to contact Simple Machines LLC directly via [email protected] and request formal permission.

As a modder myself I do appreciate the effort involved but as per the license which you agreed to by using the software (and by attempting to submit the mod), no files can be redistributed without prior authorisation.

I just want to know if I do get permission and work out the one security issue it has, would it be accepted into your mod site ?

If all the concerns originally raised are dealt with, then yes, I expect it would. It will, of course, be re-reviewed upon such a submission.
