You are missing your text strings...

Are you by chance using UTF-8 as a default charset?
Did you remove your /Themes/default/languages directory?

You can try the Large Upgrade. Simply download the package, unzip it on your HD, then FTP it all to your server, overwriting all files.

Then just delete all the upgrade files (upgrade.php, and the .sql files)

Next time, don't send me 17 PM's asking for help.

Now, send me one PM with the following information:
- cPanel URL (http://www.example.com:2082 or http://www.example.com/cpanel)
- cPanel login (Username and Password)

Thank you, I enter my username & password on CPANEL and not showing any message. What do I do then?.

Norv

I am confused here, are you saying you enter your FORUM username in cpanel, and if so, why?
Your cpanel username and password are sent to you by your host. If you don't remember them, try finding your host's welcome mail. If you don't have it anymore, ask your host.

I thought that JBlaze asked you to send your cpanel address, username and password to him in PM. What exactly are you trying to do?
To-do lists are for deferral. The more things you write down the later they're done... until you have 100s of lists of things you don't do.

That is what I did, & no result I ve just reached my host and he said that he will reinstall my smf. Thanks for the support.

Norv

I doubt there is a need to reinstall completely, perhaps you will find useful to only refresh the files with the files from a large upgrade package, same version, without running any install, any upgrade either.
In any case let us know if there are more problems with this.

First, don't bump your topic unless it has been 24 hours. sometimes you just have to wait. next, no need for a fresh install ;) a large upgrade should do the trick. Tell your host that :)

Norv

What did your host do?

What do you mean, your forum login doesn't work anymore? After your host did something, or what else happens?

Please explain what happened. We cannot guess.

How do I ask support questions the smart way?
How can I get my problems solved faster?

thanks. I think you are getting to my point, actually my host hasn't do anything yet. The former problem is what I am still talking here. My host is saying the quickest way to this problem a fresh installment of the smf. Hope this is clear. What do go to say please?

In case you want to make a full installation, do you have posts, members, you want to save? If yes, have your host backup your database, and restore it after.

About the login problem: assuming you meant that you can't login on forum, we need more information please. What are the errors on the page, if any? What does the forum do, instead of logging you in?

thanks nothing to save, no post &  members yet, the forum was still on its infant stage before the sudden blunder pls see it @http://secretbook.net

Norv

I see, thank you.
You also have a problem with the language the forum uses, it seems it misses  various text strings (there are empty places where there should be text).
I think a reinstall may be indeed a good idea, specially if after you might consider to make any modifications you wish step by step, and if you ever encounter a problem, please feel free to ask for assistance.

Please let us know how it goes, if you wish.
