Favourite (Favorite) Boards [UPDATED FOR RC3]

I also have a suggestion for the feature release of this MOD.

When a member clicks those small icons, the Green colored Add Favorite or the Red colored Remove Favorite, wouldn't it be great(or safe) if there comes a small popup confirmation?

I honestly didn't bother with that originally because it's not like you can't just re-add them or remove them easily... seemed better to me at the time not to clutter it up.

1. A relatively new member may think that all those green plus signs after every board name are meant to expand those boards.

2. I am assuming that this MOD will be used only on forums which have too many boards. So, if a member accidentally clicks on one of his red remove favorite button, his favorite board might be lost(ofcourse, he can again get it back).

Out of curiosity i am asking this. Off the record. Is this popup thing a big code change(or code addition)?

It's not a big change. It's more that it slows down the user experience (IMO) but I'm not averse to including it.

I don't see why it should be a problem, my main problem right now is *time*. I will look at this once I've finished the other stuff I need to do right now.

Hi Arantor,
I know you're a busy guy but wondered if you're able to assist on this one...

After installing this mod I've run into the following problem:



It's like it thinks it's the end of the page where the ads mod takes effect, under the favourite board(s)..
although in the ads mod settings, it's set to only show at the bottom of the page.. :S

can attach any relevant files on request!

I dunno to be honest. I wrote this mod 5 years ago, I really don't remember how it works and I'm amazed it installs at all on current SMF. Not that I understand how your picture relates to the problem you're having

Thanks for the reply.. I never realized the MOD was so old now!

The 2 horizontal banners that can be seen in the pic shouldn't be displayed there..
They're from the Ad management MOD but aren't set to display where they are showing..

.. I was also surprised I managed to get it installed; I really like the idea of users being able to choose their fav categories although I usually find a few things I want to tweak

I appreciate you're a busy guy with other priorities but wondered if I could tempt you to have a look into this one again..
I'd be happy to pay for the additional time spent helping..

I'm looking to have the code looked at by someone who knows their stuff:
to remove the set of displayed adverts
to ideally grab my category icon for that board (currently without icon in favourites)

Grabbing the icon is a bit more tricky but doable - which mod are you using for that?
