Hi I have just installed this mod, but at my site, two membergroupnames will show, even if I turn it of. But if they are members of 3 groups, the third will not show.

I would like to choose to display membergroupname even if it is the primary group.
I have one group, that I do not wish to display the groupname. But it will show if the member us a member in just two member groups.

Is it possible to choose if a member group name shal show no mather if it is a primary or secondary group.

I have SMF 1.0.5

I am using this mod in conjunction with your Multiple Badge mod, and I am very satisfied so far. I was just wondering if there was a way to make the mods display the Group names and badges like this:

I am trying to do just this, but it isn't working for me. I can install one or the other, but if I try to get them both installed it gives me errors. Right now I have the multiple badge mod working just fine. I tried to add this mod (manually) and I get an error with load.php on line 1996. That is the line that looks like this:
__FILE__, __LINE__);

And none of my forum's posts will load once I've added this mod to load.php. When I went ahead and installed the mod on all pertinant files I got this error in the admin managemembergroups panel:
QuoteUnknown column 'showAddName' in 'field list'
File: /home/liberalf/public_html/Sources/ManageMembergroups.php
Line: 444

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1 RC1, while your database is at version 1.1 Beta 3 Public. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

What am I doing wrong? How can I fix this so that I can have both the multiple badges *and* multiple group names?

Anybody know anything? Pretty please??  :-*

I'm having the same problem trying to get them both to work. Has anyone gotten both of them to work? If so please tell me how.

Thanks,

Is it possible for the mod to show not only the primary membergroup but also secondary membergroups?
All of my members are around 3/4 membergroups, and I would like to have it so that all groups show.

Is it possible? Next version maybe? Someone know the code to modify offhand?

Thanks,
Dan

Updated for SMF 1.1 RC 1+
Technically it already worked but it caused some weirdness in the display

I'm very interesting by this mod.

But i'm french and maybe i makes a mistake...

Question : if a member has a lots of group, weach are the rights that apply to his profil ?
Only the rights of his first group or the sum of all his right's groups ?

Sorry if my question is stupid  ???

If a member is a in a group, he/she will have the rights based on the group. If one group is allowed and another group is denies, the member will still be allowed whatever he/she would be allowed to do.

So as long as one of the members groups has access to something the member will be able to do the stuff that other groups they are in can not do...

Hope this clears everything up?

Just to nitpick you frheimen since its important:

The membergroup permissions would on a OR style basis.  Meaning if group A or group B or group C or ... allows you a permission then you have the permission.  Any other permissions are [/i]disallowed[/i]. However if any of the groups DENIES you the permission then that permission is removed regardless how any other group giving you permission.

Generally you won't need to use deny.

This mod doesn't change anything concerning the permission system itself.  Its just used to display secondary group names which normally wouldn't be displayed.

I haven't tested it but I think it'll work on RC2.

I have the PayPal Donations mod, Enhanced Quick Reply and SMF Shop installed and the package manager doesn't like the modification.  I'll see if I can put it in manually.  Thanks!

ladyshanae

I went in to manually install the modification, as it wasn't working for me on the most recent build.

I found a problem in the package that I don't think anyone has addressed.

In the install.xml file it says to modify these two files:

<file name="$sourcedir/ManageMembers.php">
<file name="$themedir/ManageMembers.template.php">

In actuality it should be ManageMembergroups.php and ManageMembergroups.template.php.  This is why it wasn't running for me.  Well, that and I installed the Show Multiple Badges modification.

Just thought you'd want to fix this!

LostProphecy

just a question on this before i install...

can you decide which secondary mods you want displayed... obviously i wouldn't want all membergroups displayed if they are private type groups

Has there been any update to this mod related to 1.1 RC2?  I tried to install from the package installer unsuccessfully on a fairly clean new board.  It appears to be "Show Multiple Group Names,
Version 0.1." (from the read me).

Thanks in advance,

Skipdawg

This would be kewl in 1.1 RC2  8) But maybe at least have it ready for 1.1 final  ;)
