There is no need to think or choose . just smf

SleePy

It is is a bug in Curve.
None of our developers or team members have been able to reproduce this yet so we can debug it :(

I hate to add my comment here but I can't find a way to start a new topic. This new look is really confusing. All the posts appear to be squeezed off the right side of the page.  Or they appear below a line where the signature ought to be. Plus as the OP said here, there is no menu. I almost couldn't find the forum!

I assume there are alot of bugs with this and they have all been reported? I sure hope so. Trying to read things right now is kind of hard.

Which browser are you using? It may also help if we know your operating system. Just mentioning a problem without specifics doesn't help much.

Arantor

I would venture a guess at IE8 but if in doubt please provide a screenshot of what you're experiencing.

(Not all boards let you make a new topic either. And in fact the New Topic link is highlighted with a blue background)

i have the same problem with curve and IE and its not just this site its any site with curve which i have a couple test sites and other peoples sites ive viewed with IE are the same, ive tried compatability view but that makes no difference - i use IE8 on vista home premium but ive loaded curve up on IE Tester and i get the same problem with IE7

heres bug report i done with images that show the same as netco

Reasonable assumption. First rule of web design: if problem then browser = IE. :D

ETA: I can't reproduce that on XP with IE7 so it may be a Vista thing.

Aaron

stikkki or netco, could you post the HTML of any of the pages showing the problem here as an attachment? We're having difficulties reproducing the problem and I'd like to see which stylesheets it is including.

Thanks. :)

Nolt

I use Firefox but I've tested on IE8 simplemachines.org and for me looks fine. I mean I don't have this issue like netco.

bullbreedluverz

attached is page source from index page from here

Aaron

As I feared, it is including IE6.css while it shouldn't. :(

stikkiki, would you mind posting your browser's user agent here for me? That way, I can debug the detection algorithm. If you don't know how to get this information: sites like this one print it. :)

bullbreedluverz

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.0; Trident/4.0; Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1) ; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729)

Aaron

There you go; your browser identifies itself as both IE8 and IE6. Thanks for posting, we should be able to resolve the issue shortly, so expect it to be resolved on this site soon. :)

bullbreedluverz

thats ok, i dont use IE anyway other than for testing purposes lol

Aaron

! Prevent the detectBrowser function from being mislead by Internet Explorer identifying itself as two different versions. (Load.php)

Should be fixed on this site momentarily. Thanks for the help! :)

bullbreedluverz

its fine now in compatability view but when not in comapatability view its more broke.......

SleePy

Can you check your User agent while not in compatibility view?
Jeremy D ~ Site Team / SMF Developer ~ GitHub Profile ~ Join us on IRC @ Libera.chat/#smf ~ Support the SMF Support team!

bullbreedluverz

that was non-comapatability view

non compatability view

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.0; Trident/4.0; Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1) ; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729)

compatability view

User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; Trident/4.0; Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1) ; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729)

SleePy

Is that better?

BTW, do you have media center edition of windows installed?
I think that is why very few can reproduce this.

ooooooohhhh, everything looks really good now on my end.

I am sorry I didn't return to answer you guys.  (my father in law was rushed into surgery and I was offline) I see though that you have gotten it fixed.

I use IE8 and have XP but like I said, everything looks great on my end now. Thanks guys!
