SMF copywrite issue

On my forum the theme copywrite says Powered by SMF 1.1.10 | SMF © 2006-2008
why didn't it update to say Powered by SMF 1.1.10 | SMF © 2006-2009 ??

And on another forum i have using the same theme ...
it says Powered by SMF 1.1.10 | SMF © 2006-2007

Because the updater only updates the version number. It doesn't update the copyright date on custom themes that have their own language files.

You will still the older date in Themes/yourtheme/languages/index.english.php (and other languages)

ok, guess i have to update manually ... but it's funny that it updated one to 2009 and another to 2007

Not really. It just never updated it so that would have been when the theme was created from the original files.

You can update index.english.php to have 2009 instead of 2007 or 2008, yes.

my theme does not use it's own index.english $:-\$

I changed it in the default ... i wonder is it's because im using utf8 ?? the updater maybe updating just english

Then edit Themes/default/index.english.php instead.

I checked index.english.php it was updated ... so definitely caused because I'm using utf8.. smf should detect which English is being used and update accordingly

yeah, that's what i'm saying the smf updater only changed index.english ... it did not change index.english-utf8 ... I just changed it manually to show 2009

The installer can't attempt to update every variation of the language files - there are dozens of files that would have to be modified in that situation.

The updater should ask which language version you are using and update it
