8: Use of undefined constant Y - assumed 'Y'

Have only been actively using my forum for about a week or so , and already I have an error log that's 416 pages long. Every error is practically the same, along the lines of:

8: Use of undefined constant Y - assumed 'Y'

they occur in various files Admin.template.php, Display.template.php, BoardIndex.template.php, Who.english.php, MessageIndex.template.php, Profile.english.php  and more always on line 363

Have searched the boards here for similar errors with no results, any idea what's causing this?


My board seems to be functional, and the only bug I've noticed is that oocasionaly while posting it times out. When this happens if you simply go back and re-submit the form it seems to post ok on the second attempt. This is not all the time and doesn't seem to be due to any specific situation.

What version are you running, can you do a detailed version check to ensure all files are up to date?

I would reupload the theme files.

hmm yeah I guess so but that would mean losing all the changes I've made to the theme. I wish their was still an easy way of editing the theme via admin like in yabbse....

What changes have you made to your theme or themes?  Have you added any custom menu buttons?

Check the index.template.php on the lines described by the various error messages.

the only chnages I've made are to remove the login box section, avatar and instant messages info from the top of the standard smf template so that the first thing that is displayed is the menu buttons. Take a look the links in my signature. I will try and look in index.template.php on the lines described as you suggest.
