error message on install completion

Hello there. After choosing SMF over phpBB I attempted to install 1.03 on the following server setup mySQL 4.1.11 and apache using PHPmyadmin.

I finished the install and recieved the following error;

The forum is to be hosted on hxxp:clanhosting.com [nonactive] which uses google ads. On searching these forums I have found similar error messages which all relate to the 'shoutbox' which I am not trying to install. I have re-uped all the files mentioned in the warning and made sure that all the files involved and that are mentioned on the install as being set as #777 writeable by all.

Have I missed something? I still haven't seen the index.php.

If ads are forcibly shown on the page before PHP outputs anything, you'll have such problems.  I'm afraid SMF wasn't really written to work with such hosting.

Thanks for getting back to me. I had feared that this may be the problem. SMF will still be my choice of BB since I can't be bothered with all the holes in phpBB, I just need a different provider!
