How to see active topics?

As you are probably aware phpbb3 has the feature where you can click see active topics and it lists the active topics from the last seven topics. Is there a way to do this with SMF?

Probably the most similar feature would be unread posts.
/index.php?action=unread

Put that at the end of your URL.

That is an smf forum yet the action=recenttopics doesnt seem to work on other SMF forums.
