restoring a SMF 1.1.11 database in a SMF 2.0RC3 forum will never work.
The database have to be upgraded.

A 1.1.11 database will definitely not work with RC3.

When you run a regular upgrade from 1.1.11 to 2RC3 the database will be upgraded automaticly.

I don't know if there is a standalone package to do this job.

What you can do is save all files you have now in RC3 in a safe place, put back a backup of your 1.1.11 site, run the upgrade, you're database will be upgraded too,  and then copy back the files you've just saved.
