So, what is caching?  I've searched but nothing I have found really explains to me in English not computer terms what it is, and per my site what I should do or not do with it.   

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

PS It says this on my Admin thingy

SMF has detected that your server has Memcached installed.

It means storing some stuff so it doesn't have to be processed every time you change pages. This is good if you can do it. Makes things run smoother.
