How do i add my own banner to the forums?

How can i add coloured forum profile names to special ranks?

kat

I'm not sure I really understand you, Mitch.

Punctuation can totally change what you mean.

To add a logo to the theme, go to Admin>Current theme.

In there, you'll see "Logo image URL:". Just put the url for your banner/logo, there.

I don't get what you mean, with your second question, at all, I'm afraid.  ::)

hum i can't see logo image URL because I'm using different theme called mystic jade how do i add it now then ?

kat

Should be the same.

Gimme a few minutes. I'll install the theme on my test site and get back to you.

Just in case, though, have a look at my live site:

http://www.tlakoc.org.uk

If you want the banner at the very top, like that, I can probably help you. ;)

kat

Hmmm... You're right. That theme doesn't have the logo option.

I'm just gonna try a few things and see what happens.

Will report back, in a few minutes.

You should replace your logo in themes folder, Go to  Themes--(yourtheme)--images-- and find where the logo is and replace it with your logo.

To get a banner, at the top of the page, which, when clicked, takes you to your forum's homepage, this is what I did, with that theme.

Firstly, I created a new file, named "Banner.php".

That file is, simply, this:

<a href="http://yourwebsite.com/index.php">
<center><img style="margin-top:6px" border="0" src="/Banner.gif" width="800" height="90" alt="Forum" title="Forum" /></a></center>

Obviously, you'll need to change "http://yourwebsite.com/index.php" "Banner.gif" and "Forum", to suit.

That needs to be saved into the root of your forum, where Settings.php is.

Then, in Mystic Jade's index.template.php file, find this line:

// The main sub template above the content.

And, on it's own line, just above that, add this line:

include 'banner.php';

and you should have a banner!
