Pics bigger than the original ! S O L V E D

Hi all,

maybe someone can help me

I installed a brand new version of SMF RC3 on a linux server.
Installed some mods, all went fine.
Then I uploaded a pic with 40 kb and looked in the attachments folder.
Big mistake !!
There the original file was 251 kb !!!! and the thumb 17 kb.
Not very cool I think
Php.ini info is that GD over version 2 is installed and enabled.

Somebody has a great idea to solve this problem???

I do not seem to have this problem on my test forum.

What are the settings you have under Attachment Settings? And also what mod's did you install?

I attached the settings and mods.
the idea with the mods is not bad.
when there is not an other solution I must install a new version and mod after mod I must look in the attachments folder to find the terrorist.

I made a fresh installation with no mods at all.
A file with 73 kb has now 717 kb
Loaded the new forum to a second server, where SMF 1.1.11 is runnung without these problems.
The same size. All uploaded files are too big.

Hmmmmm, seemed it has got nothing to do with the mods, it must be the software.
Checked on 2 servers now, where 1.1.11 has no attachments problems with the size.




PS:Installed a fresh version of 1.1.11 and the file size in the attachments were OK.
But I would be glad to keep the 2 version

Solved with a mod !!

Problem is solved with a mod called   "Resize Attached Images" from Kays.
The pics are now like the original and the thumbs only 2-3 kb

A good advice from me, check your attachments folder sometimes
