WYSIWYG bug

I am using RC 3. The WYSIWYG is annoyingly buggy. When I copy paste something, the alignment and formatting appears normal. But when I post it , all spaces got deleted. Looks like a heap of word. Please fix it in the next release. I am not able to use WYSIWYG editor now .

Thank you for sharing your issue. There are indeed bugs in WYSIWYG editor, some of which were solved since RC3, and should be included in the next version.
However, I'm not entirely certain it removed all spaces... Could you please show a screenshot with the edited text and the posted text, for us to see? Does it happen on this forum as well?

Oh good to know. I'm using RC3 right now and each time I hit toggle, the formatting from the RTE and what I did in BB code gets lost. Also, the RTE is currently unable to do sub-bullet points. I can do it with BB code by doing a list within a list, but the users would appreciate being able to do this in the RTE. Do you know if this gets fixed in the updates? Better yet, do you know if we'll be able to paste from Word more easily without formatting errors? When do you think the next version might be released?

WYSIWYG as present in SMF has some features and does not have others. Personally I believe that its issues should be solved (and we are working on that), but I doubt others will be added.
WYSIWYG editor however should try to understand the plain bbc code and preserve it ... though it's not very successful sometimes. It depends on the complexity of the bbc code, it depends whether it supports that particular code.

As for paste from Word, I'm sorry, but this is not something we pursue.

Hi guys, sorry for waking up the dead threads But the bugs are still present in 2.0. I have HUGE issues getting text formated sometimes. Many times, I lose the BBcode and while in the editor i see some type of text and selecting text and pushing any button doesnt change anything, in the preview I can see the changes. However, this is not WYSIWYG
I've been using SMF for a month almost and I must say that I am happy with it's performance and features but that editor... is just pissing me off as I am using it most of the times

What have you got in your profile > look and layout settings? Are you sure you have the wysiwyg editor selected?
