My question is similar to http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=34459.0 but I can't find the folder used to fix that issue. (?!)
What I'm trying to do is figure out how to edit/remove the text on the registration page at the Username input that says "Used only for identification by SMF. You can use special characters after logging in, by changing your displayed name in your profile."
I want to edit that text but for the life of me, I can't figure out what file it is in! I've tried searching but haven't been able to find it. Can anybody shed some light as to where I can find the file I need to edit? (I'm using SMF 1.1 Beta 3)
Thanks,
Cory

go to your admin panel:
Members -> Registeration -> Registration Agreement

then edit it as you want ;)

edit: sorry I misunderstood you.. :(
anyway, go to Themes folder and then the theme folder you are using (in case it was the default open "default" folder) then "Languages" and find the file Login.english.php and look for $txt[520] which contains the message you want to change.
so the path would be:
SMF ROOT/Themes/default/Languages/Login.english.php

We don't need a reason to help people
