Post Moderation

Hi,

I was wondering if some type of post moderation functionality could be built into SMF by default. I know that [Unknown] created a MOD for this before, but he is no loinger supporting it. Here is a list of features I would like to see in it:

• Ability to turn Moderation on and off by both user and group
• Ability to have Moderation on or off by default (for new users)
• E-mail's sent to people who are able to approve the post
• Message when logging in that there are post that need to be moderated. Also, someone who has the ability to approve a post should see a message that there is a post awaiting approval at all times, not just when they are in a board they are a mod on.

I think that you guys have shied away from implimenting a feature like this in the past. Although this feature would not be useful for all users corperations (like that one I work for) would really be interested in a feature like this.

This has been asked several times. Its going to be implemented in future versions, dont know when. I wait it also. Btw, post moderation MOD is Grudges work

Where can you download the moderation MOD from, and what does it do exactly - this is a feature I need from a discussion forum.

p.s. sorry for my ignorance, this is my first post here - be gentle with me.

If you search for post moderation you should find the mod somewhere - also searching for "Visual Warning Mod" also has post moderation included.

I actually stopped updating the mod as I don't have time to keep it up to date - it should work with 1.0.5 I'd guess. I do intend to get this functionality into SMF some day - hopefully in 1.2 (Albeit probably a year away )

Thanks for your reply Grunge. I have tried both of those MODs and I am a huge fan of the visual warning mod. There are a couple of problems though. I need the moderation to be automatic for all users, except users in certain special groups (and mods, admin's, etc) and I need it to automatically moderate new users.
