1.1.11 -> 1.1.12 update file reports corrupted

Hello,

I've tried to upgrade from 1.1.11 to 1.1.12 and every route to upgrade gets the same error.  I've tried the AdminCP link and downloading the package and using the Package Manager.

I looked at the manual edit and saw one of the changes was regarding news.  I've installed the extended news MOD which has me wondering: when does the error get generated?  Has it started parsing and perhaps found a mismatch and drops out at that point? 

Our system is configured as follows:

First off, have you got the right file?

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/downloads/smf_patch_1.0.20_1.1.12.tar.gz

If so, I got exactly the same error, when I installed.

If you upload the file to your Packages directory, using FTP, then go to Admin>Packages to apply it, you should be OK.

I'm having the same issues. It makes no difference whether i try loading tars, zips.. they all fail.

Nope, and i can't imagine how can this error be related to the mods i have installed, it fails before even parsing the xml

Yes.  No matter how I try it, it blows up.

That error, "The package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted." would only occur, if you upload the file via Package Manager.

If you upload it via FTP, then apply it, there's no way, that I know of, that you could get that error.

I'll give a try with direct FTP into the packages directly and then have package manager find it and see what happens that way.

May take me a few hours.

FOUND IT!!!!

I have the Version Emulation Dropdown MOD installed.  And I didn't have it set to 1.1.11

AdminCP -> Server Settings -> Feature Configuration

Now I just have to fix my problem in ./Themes/default/Display.template.php
