This is the error message I am receiving :

The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.

I was going to delete the package and start over, but I get a popup saying :

The package your about to delete is currently installed!

(which it isn't)

Any suggestions?

Bump

Did I post this question in the wrong section?

青山 素子

No, it's the right section. Support just seems a bit slow.

What are you using to do the update? Are you using the link in the admin center?

Mayhem30

Sorry, I meant 1.1.12.

Yes, I'm using the link in the admin center and I have also tried uploading it via the package manager.

Create a "temp" or "tmp" directory with in "Packages" directory And CHMOD to 777

Then give it  a shot.

Mayhem30

No, that did nothing.

Also under "Options" I have noticed that when I try to change dir permissions, it no longer prompts me for my ftp info. I do not have that information saved - so I'm not sure what the heck is going on.

Mayhem30

I managed to get further in FireFox - but something is still wrong.

I clicked on "Apply Mod" and it showed that everything was going to be sucessful. I went ahead and patched it and it said :

The package was installed successfully. You should now be able to use whatever functionality it adds or changes; or not be able to use functionality it removes.

Yet the SMF version number did not change and it still shows that I can "Apply Mod".

sAce

In Admin Home, Click on detailed version link, that would tell you if the files were updated

Mayhem30

No, the files are still v1.1.11

sAce

MAke sure the files are writable and try the update again.

Mayhem30

I have already tried that - It still show the "Apply Mod" button.

sAce

Could you please please PM me a test admin account details.

I am also having problems updating thru the packages.  I am getting the error message

./Sources/Subs-Package.php Test failed

Everything else passed.  Not sure what to do.

Any help would be very appreciated.

@ Mayhem30
-  Any update on this issue ? if package manager is still failing try the large upgrade ( Note - all mods and custom coding will be lost, so make a backup )

Yes, sorry the package manager is still failing.

Large upgrade is not an option as I have made custom edits over the last 4 years - and have not kept track of the changes.

This is all the error logs shows :

Make sure the FTP path is correct. It might be different from the forum's physical path. An alternative is to fix permissions manually using a local FTP program or at the shell or asking your host to set permissions.

This issue has been resolved.  :)

All I needed to do was temp change the owner of the forum directory (so the apache webserver is the owner) - and then the update installed without a hitch.
