Hi,

I have spent 2 days sorting through this forum and also tearing my hair out and I can not get the forum to sit right or authenticate on my Mambo installation.

Please help me.. I am happy to provide as many details as possible.

I am on a Linux Server I installed SMF 1.0.5 and Mambo 4.5.21 and then the bridge. I have smf DB and mambo databases seeing each other but not only does the board look "clunky" but it also wont allow me to login/ use the board!
The main site is www.indigocat.com.au [nofollow] and smf without the bridge is www.indigocat.com.au/forums [nofollow]

I am finding this experience frustrating but wish to use SMF as I did a lot of research before I chose it and it came up trumps.

thanks in advance..

well, the "look" problem has been discussed by just about every new user...    it's a conflict between the mambo template and the SMF theme...   The fix is to modify your SMF theme to fit your mambo template... especially the CSS entries.

As for your login problem...   it looks like you did not do Step 1 and apply the SMF mod package... because your forums/index.php has not been modified to tell it what to do with the mambo_login action.

Thanks Kindred,

I have gone through the entire reinstall process and now have the forum appearing to see my login.. but now I cant log out?

I am getting this error...

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare md5_hmac() (previously declared in /home/indigo/public_html/forums/Sources/Load.php:210) in /home/indigo/public_html/forums/Sources/MOS_SMF.php on line 502

I reinstalled the Sources/MOS_SMF.php as you explained and got stuck again  :'( sorry!

well, this then begs the question:   Which version of the bridge did you install?

You have SMF 1.0.5, and the bridge for SMF 1.1 beta 3.

You should have this one:

http://mamboforge.net/frs/download.php/6472/MOS_SMF_BRIDGEv3.19a_stable.zip

Kindred

that's what I figured... but I was waiting for Kaety to mention which bridge he/she actually installed.
