How do I upload an image into my post

Can someone kindly tell me how to upload images and video into my post. Do I have to use a modification to achieve this?

As an attachment, or in the actual post?

Avera creates a different menu called media where the images are posted. Can anyone tell me how to use the post reply or new topic platform to upload an image or video into my post and replies?
