Hello ever sinced i moved to a new VPS i can't seem to install mods i always get this error

You cannot download or install new packages because the Packages directory or one of the files in it are not writable!

But i have checked and the package folder and all the content is set to writable so what is the problem?

Thanks

I am running 1.1.13

Have you got a "temp" directory, inside "Packages"?

CHMOD 777.

GalaticNetwork

No only one called backups, should i create temp and chmod to 777?

Edit* Maybe not lol, it says it installs the packages but they are no where to find in the admin area. It says redirecting to mod settings and jusr redirects me to the forum fron page?

Do you know why this is such a pain

The packages are all listed in the folder i created named temp. But they don't show up on the admin page. And there are also some files located in my ./ folder when you login via ftp before the public_html folder is this normal?

Thanks

what are those files? a little more detail may make helping you a bit easier. have you checked file permissions to make sure apache [or your web server] can write to all the smf files?

I have installed several mods,

1.    ENotify    2.0
2.    Enhanced PM Warning Message    1.0
3.    Default Avatar    1.3
4.    Forum Firewall    1.0.8
5.    Board Notification Mod    1.1.6
6.    httpBL    2.5.1

In packages folder everything is set to 777 including the folder temp i created which got the mods installing but don't show up. They just list as installed.

Thanks

Are you getting any errors in your RAW cPanel log?  Are the target files the modification is suppose to be modifying, actually being modified? Also some hosts don't like 777, but I guess would be returning another kind of error.

It might be a file ownership issue as well, how did you move the files?
