Good day to everyone,

I encountered the same problem in our site.. it only started yesterday (May 7). All of a sudden, all images are not showing. I'm running 1.1.13 using "Theme AS". Some BB codes are not in effect, as well.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

TIA.. :)

kat

Hi, Arbil!

I split your post away from the topic it was in, so that things didn't get confused. :)

If you go to Admin>Themes>Themes and Settings and click on the name of the theme, in the list, you'll see:

This theme's URL:
This theme's images URL:
This theme's directory:

Are those paths correct?

arbil

Thanks a lot K@

Theme directory (templates):
/home/desertfo/public_html/tambayan/Themes/As_theme

URL to above directory:
http://desertfoxshooters.com/tambayan/Themes/As_theme [nofollow]

URL to images directory:
http://desertfoxshooters.com/tambayan/Themes/As_theme/images [nofollow]

Yes, the paths are correct.

arbil

Ohhh.... I'm sorry, let me clear, there might be some confusion.. what I meant was the posted photos are not displaying. Now it only shows the image url between img code. And all posted photos were affected.

kat

Have a look at Admin>Posts and Topics>Bulletin Board Code

Is the image tag enabled?

If it is, you may have mod hassles.

You don't happen to have the PrettyURLs mod installed, do you?

What mods DO you have?

arbil

Yes K@, the img tag is enabled.. in fact, all tags are enabled. There are tags which are also affected aside from img tag like color, font, size, list, etc.

I have several mods installed in our site but everything's running smoothly for the past year, until the other day.

1.Custom Profile Field Mod 3.20
2.Image Quote Removal Package 1.1.1
3.SMF 1.0.21 / 1.1.13 Update 1.0
4.SMF 1.0.20 / 1.1.12 Update 1.0
5.Fix Message Empty Error For Embed Video Mods 1.0
6.Tapatalk SMF Plugin 1.1.0
7.delete inactive users 1.0.3
8.Aeva Media 1.4c
9.SMFPacks Shoutbox 1.0
10.Users Online Today Mod 1.4.0
11.Move Topic Notification 1.2
12.SMF 1.0.21 / 1.1.13 Update 1.0
13.SimplePortal 2.3.3
14.Yarex 2 smiley set 2.0.0.1
15.SMF Trader System 1.6
16.Reason For Editing Mod 2.3.2
17.Display Name On Registration 1.9
18.Enhanced Profile Header 1.2.3

Thanks again.. :)

Funny, this...

Another member was having problems, like this, with that very same theme, the other day.

As this started happening the other day, though, and it all worked, before, we have a weirdy.

No mods installed just before this started happening, you say. Yes?

Everything's OK, if you use the default theme, I assume?

If that's the case, this might seem weird, but bear with me, here...

Rename that theme's index.template.php file, to something like "index.template0.php".

Have a quick look around. Things WILL look odd. But, do the tags work, then?

(Rename the file back, when you've had a look around).

Yes, no mods was installed prior to this.

No, the problem still exists.. (check attached snapshot)

Renamed it and checked... it looks odd indeed.. :D
But it's still the same, tags aren't working.. :(

What should I do now.... please bear with me, too. badly need your help...

Thanks a lot...  :)

arbil

I don't know if this will help...

I just check the error logs and found a file that can't be loaded. Its' the "ThemeStrings.english-utf8.php' language file. I double checked it in the File Manager language folder and it doesn't exist. There's no "ThemeStrings.english.php' as well.

How/where can I get a copy of that language file so I can test it?

Illori

most likely that file is an option for your theme, it is not really used and the author never removed the code to call it, that error should not relate to the error you are seeing above though.

also can you provide a login [post it do not pm] to your forum so that we can actually view the issue?

kat

If renaming that file didn't help and it's happening on the default theme, too, and you've not added any mods or made any edits to anything, I'm finding this rather curious.

A link, as Illori suggested, would help, perhaps.

Just to check, when you say "all images are not showing", do you mean attachments, images posted in {IMG} tags, ALL images, as in theme icons, etc. or what?

arbil

K@:

images posted in {img} tag. See my previous post above with attachment for sample. I'll create a guest account for you to use.

Thanks

kat

Right, gotcha.

Those images didn't appear, last time I posted.

Weirdness.

arbil

I'm sorry guys.. been away for a couple of days... the problem is still there...

I created an account for you to use:
uid: peterpan
pwd: panpeter123

check out the forum under Share-A-Photo section

TIA

Just to be sure images are not corrupted, (asci ftped rather then bin) go to your attachments directory, copy one of them ( with the looooooong char named something like 99_c24efcdcea35dda54beaf065370e5f577a3ada7f) to your locak disk, rename to test1.jpg and browse with a photo viewer.
(I use faststone image viewer but any other help as well)

-------------------------
Noticed that this not the case, see below ...  (might as well help others with the corrupted images)

Ha ha ha !

I noticed that you are using simple portal 2.3.3 with SMF 1.1.13  same as mine.

So I created a custom bbc block with your link typed.

Having checked in the browser (flickr) shows the phofo though...

the result is the same as yours :-)))  . No image. As if [img]http://tag not recognized.

My other custom bbc block does not work with the same symptom :-)
But If I click "read more" on the bottom right of the block shows the photos. Same in your site, tested.

Putting the cursor on the link, browser looks for  a link ending with end img tag sticked to the link. Maybe a clue ... Consuquently 404 file not found ...   When in the topic, image tag not sticked to the link.

The same [img] tag works when within a topic. Since nothing changed in Simple Portal 2.3.3, strange !!!

We are together ...

nb. The only difference today is I'm trying to uninstall pretty url with no success up to now. I dont know in your case.

kat

Just had a look... That really IS odd, that.

Would you mind, if I had Admin access to your site, so I can look around and check a few things out?

(PM me the details, naturally)

Have a look at this, first, for obvious reasons:

Provided admin details via PM.

The failing block is at the bottom of the portal

kat

It's OK, now.

I don't think the portal's designed to use BBC tags.

I've used HTML, instead, and it seems to be working.:)
