How big are forum backgrounds?

I'm trying to change my background but I don't know how to find the measurement.

depends on the theme ur using
go to ur theme's image folder, u will find the background image
or if it's using css u will have to edit index.css in css folder

I found the background image, but it was just a tiny box repeated. I'm trying to have a background that fits perfectly in my forum.

depending the way how style is coded
you could replace that image with ur custom one, it will keep repeating horizontally or vertically or both until it fills the screen
if you just want to display one image then replace that image
and go to ur css find that image, and delete the line where says background-repeat
