I'm trying to add a link to the top of the main index.php page that loads when you first go to the forum.  I've tried looking through all the files and can't find the one that will let me do this.  I thought is was the index.php file in the main folder, but that didn't add anything when I tried to edit it.

Any help is much appreciated.

Try adding the link to the top of index.template.php.

word dan. You need to edit the template, not the main index.

Well I got the text there with the color and size that I want, but now I can't get it to be centered in the page.  Any ideas?

probabally because the header is in like 2-3 (not sure...) different table cells. So your only centering it inside the table it's in, not the page. Your best bet (IMO) would be to put it on the navigation bar subtemplate.

Which template is that?  I don't see any titled "navigation bar".

1MileCrash

it's a Sub Template. Youll find it in index.template.php. All the way at the bottom.
