Question about user panel

I am trying to finish my theme,but cannot seem to move the user panel from the top right to under the menu and in the panel area without getting an error.


I was wondering how I would do this correctly. If anyone can help me I would be very happy.

I also have the index.template.php attached just incase someone needs it to help me.

Looks like crap in 2.0 Curve, but I think I see enough of it to do what you want.  Moved it into <div id="panel"> so it's sitting left side under the menu.  Needs some css to position it better, but this should give you the general idea.
