Strange Message when Installing -- Line 234 fatal error

Hi. I admit. I'm a newbie, and I get easily confused.

I was trying to install a Simple Machines board, and I got this:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: db_error() in /home/www/mysite.net/smf_1-0-5_install[1]/Sources/Subs.php on line 234


When I looked at the area around this line, I got this:

232 $ret = mysql_query($db_string, $db_connection);
233 if ($ret === false)
234 $ret = db_error($db_string, $file, $line);
235
236 // Debugging.

I'm not quite sure what to do with this, and being very inexperienced, am a little reluctant to play with coding unless I know what I'm doing.

Any ideas?

It looks like not all files were uploaded properly. Upload all files from the installation package and try the install again.
