Hey, I'm new to SMF(recently converted from YABB) and I'm wanting to customize my site more and I'm trying to figure out how to tie the login screen to other parts of the site.
Like, go to a certain section, it shows a login screen requiring login, upon authorization the screen then shows user specific details from the MySQL database.

I can easily get user specific details from the database though I just don't know how to do the login especially with the password encrypted. (If the password wasn't encrypted I'd just make my own login code).

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Gan

for the login stuff look at the ssi functions.

yoursite.com/forum/ssi_examples.php is a good place to start along with the SSI FAQ's on here.

Also the Wiki has some stuff on it http://wiki.simplemachines.org/smf/How_to_use_the_SMF_user_system_outside_of_SMF
