A broken forum, my ISP changed "File System Path"

Version 1.1.4

I got a red alert from SMF system that this was changed and that I could not reach Themes defaults something any more, press here to fix. Well I did, and I did other things, nothing works any more, just a message that the default index.template.php was not found..... I have no backup, but all tables in the SQL is intact, and I have made a copy.

Now my thoughts is to delete the old installation from the WWW and after that install again from scratch, restore extra smileys and attachments files from the old installation. And then restore the most tables back in the SQL

I would like to install the latest version 2 SMF as my new system.... or I want to end with the latest version 2.

Now how do I get there, do I have to start with v 1.1.4 and install that (I don't have the installation files any more), install 2.0.4 and go from there, what is the most clever way to come up and run again with data intact?

Once you've got your forum back...

Remember the "Backup everything, first" bit, though.

You WILL lose all of your mods and themes.

I will go on trying to upgrade, I have no special mods or special Themes, so no problem there. Let's hope it will work :)

Backup finish, just now uploading upgrading files via FTP.

Finishing the upload and ran the upgrade.php

When finish and pressing the button a white page came up, I was running the upgrade.php again and asked it to continue where it left before, it came out and stated that it was ready. I expected that it would ask me to change file and folder permission, but it did not.

Trying to run the forum as suggested end's up in the this "error" "Unable to load the 'main_above' template."

Well well, what to do now?

This has cropped-up quite a number of times.

Firstly, are you using a theme that's compatible with v2.0.4?

To revert to the SMF default theme, try adding ?theme=1 to your forum URL. So, if it was here, you'd go to:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?theme=1

If not...

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&as_q=&as_epq=Unable+to+load+the+main_above+template&as_oq=&as_eq=&as_nlo=&as_nhi=&lr=&cr=&as_qdr=all&as_sitesearch=www.simplemachines.org%2Fcommunity&as_occt=&safe=images&as_filetype=&as_rights=not+filtered+by+licence

I have a hunch that we have a problem that keeps annoying people, here, too. Can you ask your host to make sure that "mod_security" is turned OFF (It's CRAP!) and that you have full CHOWN ownership of the files on your site? I suspect you could have both those problems.

Seems that a little use of the "?theme=1 trix" made it work, thanx :)
