So I tried to add a new membergroup and got this error.

QuoteDatabase Error

Duplicate entry '11-auto_simtopics' for key 'PRIMARY'
File: Sources/ManageMembergroups.php
Line: 447

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 2.0.6, while your database is at version 2.0.4. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

SMF version is 2.0.6!

Will the issue be fixed if I change the version to 2.0.6 in the smf_settings manually? If so, is this a proper method to fix that issue?

2.0.5 and 2.0.6 patches do not change the database, so it really doesn't matter.

Neither did earlier 2.0.x releases. You can adjust smfVersion manually if you wish but the underlying error will not be fixed by it.

It's OKK to ignore the "your database might need an update", 2.1 doesn't even bother to tell you that now ;)

As for the main error, what mods do you have install?

Neo_TE

Thanks for that information. It looks like that the "similar topic" mod is the one that's causing that error. Ill post this error in that mod's support topic. Thanks again.

Marking topic as solved.
