Is this an ownership problem?  I can log in, but this is all I get

Is this a screen shot from your FTP client?

If yes and the files are missing, then your forum won't work so if the forum is working then the FTP directory is not being displayed correctly. Have you tried Filezilla?

Even if you don't have the permission to change the files in SMF your FTP client should still display them and also display the CHMOD permissions.

Please DO NOT PM me with support requests. Post the problem in the appropriate Support Board so everyone can benefit from the advice given.

Yes, this is a screenshot from an FTP client, since that stuff up there is the raw FTP protocol being sent back and forth. This is the normal handshake, but looking at it it's only the first half of it - the call to PASV to initiate a passive connection should have a response (and will be required before you do anything useful like getting a directory listing)

So, scrolling down and providing the rest of the log would be useful (interpreting raw FTP is one of the more unusual skills I've picked up :P)

As for permissions, it is entirely possible to have permissions that don't even let you see the files which given the host's apparent technical skills, seems rather likely.

That is the bottom of the log. I have let it sit there for 10+ minutes and I get nothing else.  I have not been able to see them since they experienced a ddos attack a couple of months ago.  I have tried all the usual steps that CuteFTP recommends trying but nothing works

There's nothing after the PASV instruction? That's not a good sign.

Power of posting, they must have fixed it since I posted this. Just tried to connect and it's all there  lol

You know, I will never claim to know much about this stuff, but I think it is safe to say that the people that run this host are complete and utter morons  LOL
