Translating boards? (not specific language support needed)

Hi everyone, i thought this is the most suiting section for my question but feel free to move it and sorry if i have been mistaken by posting this here.
So here's the question, i googled a lot but couldn't find anything as regards translating the BOARDS actually without using some plugin such as the Google translator one. Is there a way to do it by simply adding some strings somewhere in a way similar to mods translations? I mean that if the user changes the forum language the descriptions and titles of the boards will load the proper translation as well. Being as clear as possible i am Italian and i have Italian language set up here but i can see all boards descriptions and titles (not post titles, bord titles i mean) all in English, i would like to get all in the same language if language changes on my forum. Is it possible? How? Do i need a mod or something?
Thanks in advance :D

It's so powerful that on this post and even in the two PMs you sent me,you still answered my question very quickly and you're apologizing for the delay. You're the #1 support I've probably ever encountered man, so much respect for that. Thank you, and get better soon.

I'll keep this in my siggy for a while just to remind me that someone appreciated what I did while others didn't.

You can download the italian language files from the download section --> languages

for better support in your own language you can peak around here

Antes

There was a modification to set board names based on language but unfortunately SMF 2.0 doesn't have it.

Thanks for your reply.
Is it possible to re-do that in smf 2.0.x? Should i try asking in the mods section if someone might be able to do that?

FYI, the MOD Antes was referring to is this:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1276

Unfortunately it is not possible to pick up that without the author's consent (no license) and he is absent for quite some time...
You should really request something like this in the proper board.

Again you, always :D and thanks as always :D dam you are my favourite member here XD i wish i could know things like you and some other people like Antes and more... I will never be able to do that as i hate coding (a bad teacher made me hate it since i attended school T.T) but i will always try to help and receive help. I will pm the author anyway even if he has been months offline maybe he has pm email notification (hopefully xD) to ask him to add some lines authorizing anyone with the necessary skills to update the mod for smf 2.0.x version.
And by the way in case he won't answer i will ask as well in mods section just after this message, thanks again :D

I'm not marking this as solved as it isn't actually "solved", at least until the relative mod will be released.

The update has been authorized by the author HERE. And i stated it in the mod request topic as well. Hopefully someone will do that, i think it's a very important feature D:
