Earlier today I downloaded and installed SMF version 2.08. A detailed version check shows the following.

SMF File        Your Version        Current Version
Sources             2.04                       2.08

SSI.php             2.04                        2.07

Help in how to resolve this would be appreciated.

Hi and welcome to SMF! :D

Where did you get SMF from? Did you download it from http://download.simplemachines.org/ or from somewhere else? If you just installed it I would suggest to just reinstall it from the official download I linked you. That should work and fix it for good.

Don't worry about it...
It was a glitch in the version identifiers in the files. Everything is good.

He said earlier today so he downloaded it today... Is the glitch still there in the official download? O.o that's why I asked where he got that from...

Hi NinjaZX10RR and Kindred. Thank you both for your replies. Yes, I did download SMF v2.08 from the official location and it was the ZIP package.

I did the check because I have another issue but that will be the subject of another topic.
