how do i upgrade a mod ex: ezportal Your Version: 2.6 Latest Version: 3.0.1

I have a couple of mods that I need to update. Obviously I need to backup my forum as a precautionary step. The procedures probably vary per mod and its integration. But as an example with ez portal, do I just download the mod and install it "on top of" the existing version or uninstall old and install new.

How do I upgrade a mod.

since each mod can be made differently, you would be best to post in the mods support thread and ask the author.

generally you should uninstall the old mod and install the new after.
