Samana Johann has just seen that there will/is happening an automatical nesting of email bbc in Quote BBC.

Quote from: Johann via email heute an [email protected]oh!!

if you do that:
oh!!
While a link would not cause such

Quote from: Johann via email heute an http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?action=post;board=137.0oh!!

if you do that:
oh!!
Automatical not automatic in BBC quote for email possible or such as a bbc bug??

Kindred

not a bug...   you can not use an email in the quote BBC.

you most certainly can not nest BBC tags within the arguments of another BBC tag...

No problem Kindred, nice to read you after a longer time, but the bbc is generated automatically, dont forget. So its made within the Php.

Becaus originaly it looks like that:  "Johann via email heute an [email protected]"

Such does not happen if you make it with a link for example.

So I am not the one who nests as all in this case. There is an automatic that a email is causing a generation of this bbc-code, for a html is not and there are nested bbc which work.

Just like to note, really no offense at all.

Kindred

I believe that you are using the BBC incorrectly then...    Or rather, using it in a way that was never intended

I do not believe that it was ever intended to allow/have an email address in the arguments....

Try it your self and look at the OP carefully, Kindred!
Not using any nesting:

just small stuff, but as you work a lot on 2.1, it could be fixed easily here, I guess: sources/subs.php

Maybe an insider would not call it bug, but its a (in)consistency issue of bbc and there performances at least.

Its just feedback, one may need time for it, a wellmeant not a claim, dear Mr Kindred

Kindred

and I am telling you that no fix is actually NEEDED because there is nothing broken.

I agree that it does not "work" -- but that is because you are, specifically, using the quote parameters in a way they are not intended to be used.

and changing that is actually a much more complicated piece of coding than you seem to think

No problem, personal I can handle it realy good and you are right, it never happen that something was broken  ;D

ok, just in the case you dont like to have that, nothing else. That was the OP thought. Johann is really more that satisfied and happy with all how its already works.

relax, you are one of the last, even I was not here 1 year or more!

Just the important, or first the importand, and then this or other s with some humor. but that is just a hint of Johann as well to "you have to!!!!" at all.
