Update from SMF 2.0.7 to 2.0.10

Please tell me I am wrong and just looking in the wrong area... but as far as I can tell in order from me to upgrade from 2.0.7 to 2.0.10 I need to use the large upgrade and it will wipe out ALL of my modifications on my live site???

If so....

Why is this the case?

I started using SMF way back years ago (2006 to be exact) with 1.x  and I have never seen this to be the case.

Please tell me there is a way to avoid disrupting my entire community and wiping out all the hard work I did to install my mods.
