Boards and topics have URLs but when I add "reply=x" after topic=n it just opens at the top of that page & not on that specified reply. Any way to do that ?

Hello skb,

Each post has an anchor contained in the header / title of the post. If you click it, you'll notice "#msgID" appended to your browser URL. You can copy that URL and when someone clicks it, it should take them back down to that post. Granted, the topic has to be long enough to take them down, otherwise it stays at the top because it's still in your browsers viewport.

For instance, your post is: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=548344.msg3889282#msg3889282

I hope this answers your question.

Got it. Thanks. Any idea why that msg # is repeated twice ?

But, topic solved. Thanks.

I don't recall off the top of my head. But I know the second one is the hash, that allows you to get to the anchor in the page. The first one might be for the controller somehow.
