I decided to purchase Photopost classifieds to integrate it with my SMF Forum version 1.1. RC1.

I was told in advance by Photoshop that it will work with this SMF version.

I downloaded and installed Photopost classifieds v. 2.42.

The installation went fine and I followed the procedures to integrate it with SMF.

The first problem started when I tried to log in to the admin section and it would not recognize my user id and password from the forum.

When I tried open the classifieds main page, I saw that it was able to count the members on the forum, but it could not show the member list or I could not in any way log in.

Yes, the cookie is set exactly the same as the forum.

I am lost and need some assistance from anyone that has been able to integrate SMF with Photopost.

Otherwise, it is $99.00 down the drain.

Please advise.

Here is the SMF file that came with the Photopost script.

Im looking for a good classified ad bridge for the site Im developing too.

It seems others have reported incompatibilitys using their PhotoPost scripts with RC1

I've been reviewing "classified ads" scripts all day.  One of the requirements for this script is php safe_mode = off.

Personaly, I would rather run scripts that work in a "safe_mode = on" envirionment.

too bad there isn't an open source mod for "classified ads" that integrates with smf.

The reason that these scripts require safe mode to be off is because safe mode prevents scripts from accessing files and folders that don't have the same owner ID. Most hosts don't use suExec with Safe Mode (suExec is a feature that forces PHP to run as the current user instead of the default server user). Because of this, anything you upload via FTP will have a different owner ID than anything uploaded or created by the script (images, files, etc.), so the script won't be able to do anything with the uploaded files...

I recommend either finding a different host (one with safe mode disabled) or telling your host to use open_basedir instead (see http://www.php.net/features.safe-mode#ini.open-basedir for more info).

I have uploaded Photopost Review along with classified script and with a few minor modifications, they run great with SMF.

except from one problem.

In a few incidents, logged in members who post using the photopost sections ends up with posts where they become "unregistered".

This did not happened with Photopost and SMF 1.05.

What Photopost says is that:

QuoteThe authentication routine is totally different in 1.1 meaning the only thing keeping you logged in with Photopost products right now is the sessionid cookie. If that is dropped or expires I can see this happening.

This is why I state I am looking at redoing the routines and making 1.1 compatible so we can replace our integration files when 1.1 goes gold cause if the session drops you are backwards authenticated by the user password so that you are logged in. Right now you don't have this since the password authentication does not work because of the differences in the SMFCookie is different so your only authenticating by session only.

So......
The big question for SMF+Photopost users is:
When is SMF1.1 going Gold?

As of now, my best advise is to use SMF1.05 with Photopost, later releases of SMF seems to be a problem.

An update.

Photopost is working with the RC1.1 authentication, but will not release any public update until 1.1. is Gold.
