Convert phpbb 2.0.19 premodded category hierarchy 2.1.4 to smf 1.0.5

hi to all

I wrote this topic to know if one of my forum can be converted by yours converters to smf.

It's a phpbb 2.0.19 forum premodded with the mod category hierarchy of the author ptirhiik. there 's only this big mod on it. It's for a site in production.

Will the converter work with it? what i have to do to make it working?

I used phpBB but not CH. Have you installed 2.0.19+CH directly or upgraded from any previous versions?

It's some premodded versions out by the author of the mod, where you only need to upload files (phpbb updated, with the chmod last stable version), execute upgrade.php (who works with sql file too to update the database).
The author offer always a version like this to each update of phpbb, it's more easy than reinstall his mod.

Try this file with the converter.php from the 1.1 converters topic. This will only work with SMF 1.1RC1 at the moment, so you will need to download and install that version before you convert (it can be found under "archived releases" on the downloads page). I modified the original phpbb2_to_smf.sql file a couple months ago for someone else who had that hack and wanted to convert.

Does it work only for rc1, or too for 1.0.5?

That one will only work with 1.1RC1 (and possibly RC2 since Grudge now has a convert.php file that works with RC2 as well).

Cause it's for a site which is in production, with 3000 members and 32000 posts, so that's what i ask the question...(we are tired on this site, of phpbb, and want absolutely smf...)

May it be reasonable to convert to rc2? (rc1 ou rc2?)

I converted from PHPBB 2.0.17 with the same CH mods you have. It did not hurt my change over to SMF 1.0.5 then I went to 1.1RC1 then to 1.1 RC2

Your phpBB installation will not be harmed by the conversion at all. SMF simply gets the data from the database, converts it as needed using various PHP and MySQL functions, then inserts the converted data into its own database. If something breaks during the conversion (which is not very likely), you won't lose any information.

Yes oldiesmann, i know this, but does 1.1 rc be sufficiently functional and not too buggy to use on distribution site?

Yes, it's perfectly fine for running on a production site.
