Translation issue, quoestion to devs

I have broplem with finnish translation.  Because default theme is changed, finnish language file wont fit as it is in YSE themes. My question is, should i translate only looking to new default theme and say to  non-default theme users that they have to modify lang files or themes?

Trouble parts are that boardindex header in YabbSE theme "Topics | Posts" and in Stats "Total Topics, Total Posts, Total Members".

Finnish bend very differend than english. We dont have "at" "by" etc. We ad letters to end of words. Lets say english word "house". Its "talo" in finnish. And when you said "in the house" we said "talossa". When you said "to the house", we said "taloon" etc etc. That is the reason why it wont fit in both themes

If wording has to be changed in the language files to make things work, then it should be changed.  Is it possible to omit the word "total" in this case?

It wont fix it.  Biggest issue is that header in YabbSE theme "Topics | Posts". In YSE theme it should say "Aiheita | Viestejä" and in default theme it should say "10 viestiä 3 aiheessa". It wont fit

Second is those stats. They need differend strings in both themes. And this "0 Members and 0 Guests are viewing this board." feature makes it eaven harder

I suppose a few extra strings could be added, for either theme? Although, I don't know if thats very practical

There CAN be separate language files per theme.  You just don't *have* to have them.

Well, that would solve it but how practical and confusing that is to users?

You just put different files... like so:

Themes/default/languages/index.english.php <-- one for Default theme.
Themes/classic/languages/index.english.php <-- one for Classic theme.

Do you need to put all lang files in classic folder or just index.finnish.php file?

Just index.finnish.php file needs to go into the classic folder (I presume). Languages, like themes, carry from the default if they aren't found in the theme's directory.

Yep.  This is one of those things Nevermind's "almost as good as SMF's" template system did not include .
