Now on to the questions. using the latest version of your mod, 3.6.2 all check boxes checked and default width and height.
Chrome browser latest v49.0.2623.110 m

Are posts limited to one video/picture per post?  I tried a instagram video with a picture and if there are 2 links in the same post, anything(text,hyperlink) between the first picture/video url and the 2nd link does not show up.

Facebook videos appear to work, although they show up very large, I have tried the default and also specifying a lower resolution in the settings and it seems to be ignored.

webm and mp4 links show just the video player bar at the bottom with the play button and 0:00 but no video is shown and no response from play button, these links will play in my browser in a new tab/page.

I know there are some quirks ... for example, if I post a YouTube video and a LiveLeak video, the YouTube video MUST be posted first or neither will show. Not a problem for me but in your case it may be more significant.

I can't embed posts with html tags is all. The link stays a link so I figured it wasn't trying to embed.

I am confused by others here....you say the links do not work due to html tags in them

We are supposed to be able to just grab the link from the location bar of the browser, hence no tags at all.

I just tried to embed this link for a facebook vid: https://www.facebook.com/ThePageantAuthority/ and nothing shows but when I see the video in its small version---without playing it ===> right click it will give you some choices.

One choice is to show the url so once you click ti you are given the actual link to the video which you copy and paste it into your thread and that one works. IF you have all choices chosen in admin settings.

I did some research...

.be is the top level domain for Belgium, but has been utilized (hijacked?) by Google to shorten their Youtube video URLs.  Apparently you get a youtu.be URL is you click the share button on a video, instead of copying it yourself out of the address bar.

Of course if you follow one as I did, the .be can already be in the address bar.

I did a search for "local attach" in this topic, but it didn't find any results, so forgive me if this question has already been discussed. I installed the mod and YouTube etc URL's work fine, but when I attach a video file to a post, it does not get displayed. It also does not work if I paste the URL to the attachment in the post, like I would do if I wanted to display the video file in multiple places. Is something wrong, or does the mod lack the ability to handle attached video files?

This mod does not handle attached videos. If it is in an attachment to the post.

Would it be straightforward to make it work with attached video files, or at the very least the URL to the attachment? In my tests, the URL doesn't work, presumably because you are using RegEx's that search for URL's like youtube.com, etc. To make it work with attachment URL's I'm guessing the mod would need to search for the local domain URL, and detect the MIME type of the file since it lacks an extension. It would not be. That would be very difficult more so since there is no extension.

You need to click on the image in FB and get it's URL then use the ing tags  see:

I don't want the image I want the post, I want to embed the post. That's not a solution.
