Troubles with themes

First off, I'm new to SMF, and I'm experimenting with forum themes and colors. I feel that I may have screwed something up in terms of my themes as I cannot seem to switch back to the default SMF theme-Core.

Right now, I'm stuck with the Fissault-Black them and my participants are going crazy. They don't like it as it is hard to read. I've tried to switch it to the other themes with no luck. Could someone direct me on what it is I did wrong?

for yourself to begin with go to index.php?theme=1
e.g
http://www.myforum.com/index.php?theme=1
This will reset you to the core theme
then go to Admin --> Themes and Layout --> and change the default forum theme and reset the default forum theme
