Okay i see.

So please upload the files before the change.
To clear the cache, change on the server into the cache directory and delete all files in there.
Than the cache is cleared and normal it should work again.

no..  nothing works

There's the problem!  (sorry, didn't see your other reply when I responded.)

The edit that Eliana is talking about is supposed to be in which file?
Arg to many posts at the same time xD.
So the change Eliana mention is not working, because the string what you insert there should normal in that file oO. (If not than I'm blind xD).

So that you can upload the old version without anything new in it.

ok, I am re-uploading the sportal2.english.php file without ANY edits to it.

I am starting at that point.

I deleted the cache on the forum (and my browser) and the forum is back up.

Now... where do I start because I was still getting these errors today

tk2012

I was getting these errors with the string that Eliana posted

But, I put them in the sportal2.english.php file.  The errors above appeared despite doing that.

Than do now follow changes on the $sourcedir/Subs.php:
Serach for
'title' => $txt['sp-forum'],
and replace it with
'title' => (!isset($txt['sp-forum']) ? '' : $txt['sp-forum']),

But be aware it could be possible that you can not upgrade to new versions ;).

ok, now, before I do that...

Should I still put the edit that Eliana posted or not?

ディン1031

No you don't need to do that what eliana postet, because the other thing will remove the eval error that only happen on xml things ;).

whew, ok... did that edit and cleared out my old errors.

Will see if anything appears.  Sorry for the confusion there.  It looked like the code that was being replaced was the same code that Eliana posted, so I was using the same file.  Thanks for squaring that away!

And this is why you always back up your files before you edit. ;)

Glad you got it resolved.

That must explain why I have about 30 directories on my hard drive all with about 10 different SMF files....LOL

I just finished a manual, install on SMF 1.1.6 and everything seemed to go well, however I get this error message:

QuoteTable 'bdm721_smf1.smf_sp_blocks' doesn't exist
File: /home/bdm721/public_html/forum/Sources/Subs-SPortal1-1.php
Line: 43

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.6, while your database is at version 1.1. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

Not sure how to fix or upgrade the database. Can anyone help me?

I've a similar problem, the solution came from SimplePortal.net

Unpack the Simple Portal 2.0.5 Package. Upload the Upgrade1-1.php. Call this file with the browser. And than you forums database is upto date.

Hi Guys,

Firstly GREAT MOD! Somethinf i have needed for ages.

On to the problem I have... it might only be a small issue but the other day i installed simple portal by Sinan on one site and it all worked as it should have.

Now recently the members on my forum have all donated to put towards a new site which recently got set up and i have started work on it. Now the issue is that every thime i log out of the simple portal it redirects to the forum which i would rather it did not - have i missed something with the installation? I only installed it thru the packages area - would i need to edit anything in the theme i am using? It worked on the other installed without me needing to do this?

I have signed up on the simplePortal site as well but cannot activate my account till i get home from work tonight.
