thanks blue dream.. last night while installing and moving different blocks I got caught up trying to get to the main portal page.  I had just installed a block latest posts in the center and popular boards when my server became unresponsive (I am on VPS) and I could not move.

At one point I logged in to my Cpanel (after getting hung up there too) and saw my server load was 23.3  Wow I thought what the heck happened it is normally always below 1.5 or less.  My host immediately contacted me (nice customer service :) and said what scripts are you running. Just as the server load go to 34  I was able to complete the uninstall and things returned to normal.  My error logs were turned off so I have no idea what happened.

I had zero errors when  installing the newest Simple Portal and I have no clue what caused this.  I was really having a good time with it actually.  I wonder if I should try again or not? :(

Do not use the SMF Gallery block and you should be okay. I'll revise that as soon as possible.

The theme is this one: http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=382

The index.template is attached (mainly because i have made a few modifications to my site manually).

Your file is attached.

Cheers bro - works great!

Sorry thought the "latest member" side block should be in line with "news" main block?

Not really. Linktree is part of forum.

I am using the box one for the SMF gallery.  It seems to have a real problem pulling random images

SMF Media Gallery block should be fine. But there might be problems with SMF Gallery Random image. I'll check that.

Just tried showing birthdays. It says there aren't any. Am I missing something?

You use the calendar block?

My mistake. I must have selected the wrong block.

I reinstalled no problems thanks... The issue for me now is I cannot get the blocks to cooperate.  I set up 4 running down the "left" width standard 200.  I set up one at the "right" width standard 200.  I then set up an HTML box for the "top" width (tried 350 and 400) and it wants to span all the way to the right, and the right box ends up at the bottom of the forum.  I have double checked and tried to figure this out but no luck.  Can you think of something that would cause this? :)

Don't set a width for center blocks. That is auto, depending on the side block sizes.

Yippy It took me one uninstall and a few mistakes but I got my Simple Portal looking great!  For all those others using this great Mod don't do what I did and start assigning width to your center HTML blocks.  It just screws things up :)  Also, stay clear of the SMF gallery block until that is squared away because it causes serious issues.  Thanks BurkeKnight and all those involved with the Simple Portal!  Awesome and it will remain a permanent part of my site :)

I would like some help modifying the "recent topics" block so the format looks like this mod:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1399

I installed that mod and it is so much easier on the eyes and easier to 'understand' it would be great if the portal block was the same way.
Can anyone help me with this?

Hi guys!

I uninstalled portal, but this white area still stays in admin panel!

What should I remove in code to remove white area?

Thanks.

<td align="right" nowrap="nowrap">

It appears two times. The second one if for recentTopics.

Make sure you take the changes back made in Subs.php file.

Is there some form of modification needed to be done on themes to get this going?

I'm using the DILBER theme, and when I install and use SimplePortal, it ends up removing my forum, and just showing the user name, the menu and the forum header.

Any ideas whats going on here?

Many thanks in advance.

You do have to go to the blocks and make them. They do not come all set up. ;)
However, you may also have to add a button to the menu.
