I inform you that I couldn't solve the auto publishing problem on FB pages, but I found an external service, http://dlvr.it [nofollow], which uses rss to publish new topics on a FB Page. Setting SMF rss I can also decide if publish all new posts, or only new topic, etc. I think it works well, new topics are published on page every 15 minutes.

Hi SA, when i am logged into my admin account i cannot see the Facebook link at the menu bar. But when i am logged as a regular member i can see it. Do you know why?

it should show but you need to be synced with facebook

Where are the directions on how to set this up on my forum like the configuration, publisher, open graph, etc.,?  I don't mean the application I already did that.

A lot!  For instance what does Facebook User ID mean?  Facebook Page ID?  Is this my page url or can it be for FB group?  what about Facebook Access Tokens?  Show faces, Show header, show stream....show where?  How should these be set?

facebook user id  is you facebook user id  isnt needed if you aint publishing post to you profile

facebook page id is your page id it cant be a group  it is the id of the page you created http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php?ref_type=sitefooter if any the id will be seen in your url again it isnt neeeded if you not using the publsiher

facebook acesse tokens these are needed for publishing to your profile/page to obtain these fill in your page id or profile id
save it then click the blue fb button to grant permissions after grating permissions the page should reload and save your access token automaticly

Show faces, Show header, show stream....show where
these are shown on the facebook action site.com/index.php?action=facebook if enabled they are used for the facebook plugins

the easyest way would be to just play around with on test site or somthing

no cos you dont put your fb address in it you put your page id if you have one

I honestly don't think that the aeva mod would be conflicting with this one...   I had aeva media (2.10) running with the FB mod for several moths with no problems.

Hi,

at first i would like to thank you for a great mod, which seem to have many good uses.

However, i have some serious issues with it:
I have tried to configure so that when a new thread is created (on certain boards) a new post is placed on the facebook page.
Sometimes this works, but most often it does not. I guess that i have the configuration properly since it sometimes works...
Do i every time have to click the "grant permissions" button? (By the way it does not appear in IE9)

As stated earlier i think there are quite a few good features with this mod, but is there any user guide on how to use and configure it?
Now i'm doing trial and error, and since it only works every now and then its very hard to tell if its me doing something wrong or the mod just isnt working as expected...

I just upgraded our forums to version 2.0.2 and have installed this mod. Unfortunately, when trying to use Facebook connect to register, I get this message on what appears to be a facebook page:

Sorry, something went wrong.

We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.

Is this a problem with the mod being set up incorrectly or just a problem on the facebook end that might need some time before we try again?

That error did come from Facebook, so I assumed it was their end. And just for the heck of it, I tried again after changing themes on the forums and got further. This time, I got an error message on the forums:

An Error Has Occurred!
No connection to facebook found

Any suggestions would be appreciated since it's probably something silly I'm missing. Thanks!

I followed those instructions and input the API Key and App Secret in the configuration menu. When I chose the URL, I pointed it to the URL of the forums and since it shows when I try to register with it, I'm guessing that part was done correctly. I did go back through and double check both the API key and the app secret to ensure they're input correctly and they are.
