I extracted the large upgrade into my 2.0.19 install and then ran upgrade.php. All seemed to go fine but got stuck at the Table: "log_search_subjects" (progress 85%, step progress 56%).

I tried to do the command line execution of upgrade.php as suggested on another thread and all went fine with no errors. However when trying to enter the site it only displays the maintenance mode message on a blank white page.

Any ideas? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

That can be a big table, it can simply take a while - And by a while, I mean a long time.
But if everything went OK with the CLI, and you are only stuck at maintenance, you can get out of it by editing the related setting in Settings.php

Thank you so much!

I feel kind of stupid that the problem was a simple edit of settings.php  :-[

No worries, I'm fairly sure we've all been there. :)
