Hello. I've made custom post/message icons that i'd like to replace the defaults. I've added them to the correct place in the ftp, and I've followed this: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=18623.0

I couldn't quite complete step 3 since i didn't have a post.php template. So I attempted to use the default (not my theme) and it didn't have the correct arrays (or at least I couldn't find them.) I assume it's because I use version 2.0.8 and it's located slightly different in the ftp.

Can anyone help me figure out how to make them properly display as message icons in threads on SMF 2.0.8?

here's a link to the forum if needed: http://mugenflowzone.com/

That link is to a rather outdated topic.

In SMF 2.0 you only need to go into Admin -> Forum -> Smileys and Message Icons... -> Settings
Check the box for:
Enable customized message icons
(otherwise, the default message icons will be used.)
Save

Then will see this in the menu:
Edit Message Icons

Click Add New Icon at bottom, and should be able to set up your custom ones. Make sure they are in the same location as the default.

Much simpler than I had anticipated, thanks Burke!  :)
