I am considering goint to a CMS, I run some modified scripts now but here is what they do and what I want them to do.

I want to have articles organized by category and sub catagory

I want to be able to link to articles both local and on the net

I want to integrate the BBS, and gallery

I currently use SMF and Gallery

Please take a quick peek at my site and give me a suggestion as to what to use

THANKS!!

BTW the login on the front page is for webmail, ya gotta go to the forum to log into that, and you need to create an account for the gallery to use that and once you have one you have to log into that too ;)

Guestbook has no tracking and it is setup (or it was) so anyone can add links to certain catagories. I disabled that because of morons that keep adding BS.

I'd like to be able to ban people from doing certain actions if necessary.

An integration package would be great..

I just don't have a clue as to what to use

Mambo can do much of what you seme to want internally (with add-on components and modules)

in addition, there is a bridge for SMF users to log into Mambo and another for Coppermine galleries to use the SMF userbase.

For Blogs and guestbooks, I use the internal Mambo components and I believe someone was doing an integration for SMF to various webmail programs.

I think this is real clean - is there a way to use this with SMF?

That site is using postNuke (view source reveals "<meta name="generator" content="PostNuke 0.7.2.6-Phoenix - http://postnuke.com">" - phoenix is some sort of a module or something for postNuke - not sure exactly what it does). The only SMF/postNuke integration project at the moment uses iframes and isn't that great, but if you're interested you can find more info at http://www.nuy.info/726/index.php
