Sharing Lights

Good day!

1. Where could I edit-change labels assigned to members
based on quantity of posts?;

2. ex "newbie," "hero";

3. is there an option to edit that for individual members -not globally, if they object the labels?;

4. if 3. is yes, then, how?

Thank you.

1. Admin CP > Membergroups > Post count based groups.

2. See above.

3. No.
3. Alternate: Admin CP > Themes and Layout > Themes and Settings > [Click your theme] > Check "Hide post group titles for grouped members?"

This will make users who have another group (like admin, global moderator, moderator, or some group you've added) not show the post-based group name on the post details section.

4. See above.

If you want the functionality for 3 and 4, you will have to request a mod. Just a note: It is not possible for you to have multiple post-based groups with the same amount of posts as a requirement for members to choose from. The database will not give members a choice, but instead simply assign the first group it finds.

I must be stupid.

I've checked the "Hide post group titles for grouped members" in  Theme Options and Preferences, but the funny thing is it only works for me. People who I've added to a custom group, say "fans" ;) will only say "newbie" or so below their names and not mention the group title at all.

Anyone an idea?

That group has to be their primary group

Thanks for the quick reply!

How do I check this? I mean: apart from the post count group, this is -afaik- the only group they belong to. However, i only shows their post count group name at the posts, while there's the regular group name 'admin' with my posts...

if you go to their profile and go to account related settings, you can see their primary and secondary (nonpost) groups.  With that option on, if they have a Primary group, it wont display the post group.  The same is not true if the other group is secondary (and thus not immediately visible.)

For post based groups, that will show obviously on their posts.

Thanks, that did it!

They didn't have a 'primary' group selected, once set, it showed up just as wanted. So, Thanks a lot.
